About Me

Thank you for taking time to get to know me.  My name is Jenni and I have a huge passion for education, helping others and fitness.  I am a certified Health and Physical Education teacher grades K-12 in Michigan.  I started my education at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York where I completed my undergraduate degree.  While in college, I was fortunate to work with many professionals in the fitness industry that helped me become who I am today.

While I was in Michigan, I began substitute teaching. I gained much experience in various districts in the metro Detroit area. I was able to obtain a full time teaching position at a public Charter School in Detroit the summer of 2009. I couldn't have been more excited to start my career.  I had the opportunity to meet many younger teachers like myself and some seasoned teachers who had the same zest and passion for teaching as I did. We stuck together and helped each other out whenever we could. I had the pleasure of working with the best co-worker Scott Grima for the 3 years I was Health and Physical educator. All the while I was teaching,  I was also coaching JV girls soccer at Waterford Kettering High School. Soccer is my favorite sport and very much enjoy playing, watching and coaching. I moved on to Avondale Academy in the summer of 2012. I taught part time as their Physical education and health teacher as well as coaching both the girls and boys swim teams at Avondale High School. Sadly and both excited, my husband received a promotion and I was not able to complete the remainder of the school year at the Academy. Since moving to South Carolina, I have subbed at Anderson School district 1, mostly at Powdersville High School. Students and staff have been wonderful to me and I have enjoyed getting to know staff and students alike. Once I started to expand my family I have taken the time to raise my children and enjoy the young years as they do go by very fast. My family had the opportunity to live in Mexico for an extended period of time where I was able to be home with my children, educate them and spark the interest I had years prior to being an educator.  I currently work for Pearson Education as a teacher.

As for my personal life, I am married to Kevin and we have shared many fun memories together.  We have a son, Nathan, who is 9 and a daughter, Gracie Rose, who is 8.   Our children have been a wonderful joy to watch grow up and experience life with.  I truly enjoy cooking and baking in my spare time as well as reading and fitness.  We enjoy hikes and walks to new places together.  We very much enjoy traveling to see our families and to new areas of the globe.

We were fortunate to have an opportunity to move to Irapuato, Mexico for an assignment with my husbands work.  In our 3.5 years, we have enjoyed lots of travel within the country to the wonderful beaches as well as lots of big cities.  The culture is amazing, as well as the food.  We all have learned the Spanish language to help with navigation and daily life.  While living abroad, we also have had the opportunity to play lots of golf, tennis, swimming, horse backriding and much more!

At this point in life, my children are in school, and I am looking for future endeavors and challenges for myself personally and professionally. I hope in the near future I am able to gain employment to tie in my education and experience.
